Before the day
Ask the host which games and versions are planned, what networking equipment is provided, and what you need to bring. Install and try your games at home first.
Confirm available space and power before packing a large setup. Check whether the host has any rules for connecting devices to the event network.
Pack the whole setup
- Computer and display, tested together.
- Keyboard, mouse, and any adapters they need.
- Power and display cables for your setup.
- Network cable and adapters requested by the host.
- Your own game media, required licenses, and setup files.
- Headphones if the host requests them.
- Labels for equipment and cables so they get home with you.
Leave room for troubleshooting
Old machines sometimes need a little patience. Arrive at the agreed setup time, keep your cables tidy, and ask before changing shared equipment or network settings.
Back up anything important before transporting your computer. Keep personal files and private information off shared folders.
